Christopher is a singer/songwriter whose music style is inspired by conscious alternative artists such Trevor Hall and Nahko, as well as devotional kirtan artists like The Hanuman Project and Guara Vani. He creates a warming blend of intimate acoustic, reggae and devotional sounds that quickly bring listeners into the heart space. Christopher was born with a passion for worship, often leading worship for Bible studies and youth groups, until he started searching for his own authentic path to God – which led him to Kirtan. Christopher offers a unique and heartfelt fusion of Kirtan and medicine songs. In recent years he has gravitated towards the path of Bhakti, devotional worship and chanting, and it has become a cornerstone of his music and life. The deep resonance and power he brings with his voice helps listeners and participants to allow their own voice to open from the depths of the soul. His intention for his music is to break people’s hearts open to divine love and that they realize that their own devotion through song is a wide open doorway to that.

My Yoga journey began 28 years ago thanks to a high school English teacher who convinced the administration to allow a Yoga/English block class. I was hooked on yoga from the first downward facing dog. After high school I began a deeper immersion into Yoga here in Ashland where I was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga in the K. Pattabhi Jois lineage. It was during these early morning practices (4:30 am) that I committed my life to the yogic path; traveling to learn and teach in Santa Cruz, India and Los Angeles. I'm so grateful for what yoga has brought to my life - it literally has given me a life! I'm excited to explore with you the depths of breath and movement here at A Day in the Bhav!

For many years I have been a passionate and committed student of Yoga and the Healing Arts. It has become the greatest fascination and inspiration of my life. This path of Yoga and the healing arts has taken me on an incredible ride and sharing what I have learned on this ride is my life’s greatest joy, commitment, and blessing. For me, there is nothing else. My core goal and intention in each class is to hold and guide you into a space of Grace with absolute neutral presence. Using the very special and ancient practices and techniques of Yoga in a unique and fresh way. Where you feel like the class was made exactly for you and you needed to experience in that moment. Movement - rhythm - sound - mantra - mudra - breathwork - prayer - meditation - relaxation - Allowing you to authentically return you to your true nature, your true north, your natural rhythm. And as a result, further deepen the connect your soul. Nicholas is a: - Certified Vinyasa Yoga Instructor - Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher - Certified Sat Nam Rasayan Practitioner - Certified Krystic Energy System Server - Certified Integrative Energy Therapy Healer - Tantric Numerology & I Ching Student - Sound Healing Therapist The intention of the class is to deliver a wholesome yogic experience like none other. One that is engaging, challenging, and expanding for all levels. The practices will be inspired by Kundalini yoga primarily, which uses an array of different movements, meditations, mantras, mudras, and sound. Also known as Kriya. When these Kriyas can create a certain alchemical process that allows one's awareness to open up in a profound way and promotes great healing on all layers and levels. When taught properly, I personally believe there is no experience like it on the planet, and that is what I am committed to offering.
Shantam spent more than 3 years living at the Devi Mandir Ashram in rural Napa California where he studied Sanskrit, Puja Ceremony, Yajna Fire Ceremony, and other meditation practices under his teachers Shree Maa of Kamakya from Bengal India, and Swami Satyananda Saraswati, a published Sanskrit Scholar. These teachers initiated him as a temple priest to perform ceremony for Bay Area Temple devotees who would drive out for temple services. He was able to travel months in India on pilgrimage visiting ancient sacred temples where these practices were performed at the source of this knowledge which was an important deepening and more intuitive and experiential understanding of the practices. He has also led group Homa fire ceremony and Puja home blessings for many through the following years. By performing a Ganesh Puja and reciting the Ganeshatharvashirsham the intention is to bring in aid for removing obstacles in life and inviting in success. Ganesh is considered a gateway and protector to the inner sanctum of his Mother, the Divine Goddess where deeper connection to her energies and blessings can be experienced. Therefore it is common to have Ganesh mantras used in opening ceremony when invoking the Devi in certain Hindu practices.
